Masterton District Council Te Kaunihera Ā-Rohe o Whakaoriori is a territorial authority within the Wairarapa, a region north of Wellington. Its largest centre is Masterton, founded in 1854, with an urban population of 22,400. The district population was 29,000 as of June 2022.
