Description
This embroidery work has used evenweave linen.
The complete work is composed of 102 textile panels depicting the history of Masterton. 120 Guild members spent approx 100,000 hours making the hanging. The process was well documented in the book Masterton Library Wall Hanging: A Social History in Threads compiled by Maureen Bull and Bernard Burgess (Masterton District Library: 1993, 108pp).
