Wairarapa Embroiderers' Guild

The Wairarapa Embroiderers' Guild, also known as 'Stitch,' was incorporated in 1984 (it had operated as an un-incorporated Guild prior to this) with the objectives of encouraging exchange, providing instruction, distributing information, publishing and promoting events "among those who are interested or engaged in embroidery."

Members of the Guild worked with Liz Greville on the ‘Masterton Library Wall Hanging’ (1985).

In 2021 Aratoi Wairarapa Museum of Art and History hosted 'More precious than Rubies – Treasures from 40 years of Stitch.' Members of the Guild were interviewed on Radio New Zealand at the time and recollected Marjorie McGregor as the founder of the organisation that "in its heyday" had as many as a hundred members.
