Description
“The sculpture is a play on a single geometric form, a quarter circle with an attached radius, three parts of the circle are included, with the fourth left for viewers to complete, giving them the opportunity to participate in the work. The work used to have a second part, an even more minimalist tracing of the forms in the slates on the floor, but unfortunately this was later tiled over.”
~ quoted from Jenny Harper, et al. Wellington : A City for Sculpture. Victoria University Press in Association with Wellington Sculpture Trust 2007.
A plaque installed with the work reads:
“Circle Segment / Matt Pine / 1988 / Commissioned with the Wellington City Council / Art Bonus Scheme.”
