Paul Hutchins

Paul Hutchins was born in south Wales, and completed studies at the Norwich School of Art before embarking on a three-year Diploma in Architectural Glass at Swansea School of Art.

On graduating Hutchins travelled to America to study at the ‘Glass House’ in San Francisco where he learnt specialist copper foil techniques. He also worked with acclaimed German architectural glass and mosaic artist, Ludwig Schaffrath.

By mid-July 1976 Hutchins had accepted a position at Miller Studios in Dunedin, New Zealand. He continued to work with Miller Studio until the closure of their stained glass department in 1987, after which moved to Perth.
