Colin Ashworth Pilbrow was born in Christchurch. He joined Monty Glengarry and Jock Corson in 1953 to create the firm Glengarry, Corson and Pilbrow in Gisborne. Pilbrow retired from the firm in 1979 at which time he returned to Christchurch.
