The Whangārei Community Arts Council (WCAC) was incorporated in 1964 and dissolved in 2002.
Beginning as the Northland Theatre and Arts Foundation in the early 1960s, this group was a significant party in the development of Forum North. WCAC was supported by funds from the Whangarei District Council until the 1990s, after which time it went into decline. The organisation was revived by a group of arts related community organisations, with Ian Reeves as chair, in 1997 though this activity appears to have run its course by 2002.
