Description
Part of a set of 3 tōtara carvings created in the same year: 'Guardian'; 'Pare - Waikato, Raukawa, Wairere'; and 'Matauranga'.
‘Matauranga’ depicts the three baskets of knowledge and symbols of food and trees that were grown in the Waikato region.
