Noted as "The 'architect, overseer, clerk of the works'" in relation to the 'Aotea Waka Memorial' in Pātea, who “interpreted the ideas of the tribes concerned in the erection of the memorial.” The whole construction was said to be “a tribute to his ability.” Sometimes named as “Parenui”.
