Lorraine Polglase

b. 1948

Lorraine Polglase is a multimedia artist based in Golden Bay. She has been working as a full-time artist since the early 1980s, alongside her artist husband Trevor, on their four-acre beachside property at Rototai near Tākaka. She often takes inspiration from the natural beauty of the area, and previous bodies of work have featured the Abel Tasman National Park and local birdlife as sources of inspiration. She has been a member of the Nelson Suter Art Society and has exhibited throughout New Zealand.

While the Polglases are known for their marble sculptures, Lorraine has also worked in other media, specifically oil and watercolour paintings.
