Laurence Karasek

Born in London, Laurence Karasek studied at the Royal Academy of Art, receiving the Leverhulme Traveling Scholarship at graduation. Karasek went on to teach art in several places finally arriving in Christchurch (New Zealand). Subsequently, in 1971 he took positions at the University of Denver and the University of Montana, being appointed chair of the Department of Art there in 1976.

Karasek has an extensive creative portfolio. His art can be found in public and private collections internationally as well public sculpture commissions, landscape, exhibition and children's playground design.

In 2005 he became a Swiss resident and as a professional artist, began making and exhibiting large format paintings. He returned to the United States in 2007.
