George Kojis

b. 1942

George Kojis was born in Wisconsin, United States. Between 1964 and 1967 he served in the armed forces. Later he studied painting at the University of Wisconsin and ceramics at the Tyler School of Art, Temple University in Phoenix, Arizona.

In 1976 moved to Aotearoa to lecture in art at Wellington Teachers' College. He also taught pottery, design and ceramics at Wellington Polytechnic School of Design and Victoria University. After his move to New Zealand, Kojis exhibited widely throughout the country and examples of his work are held in several public galleries and libraries.
