"Bryan McCurrach was a talented artist who worked in the late 1960's.
He was taught by Hone and Pine Taiapa [of the Māori Arts and Craft Institute, Rotorua], the latter ... supervised the building of the carved house at Waitangi.
He used portraits by Lindauer and Goldie for his kauri heads and carved his figures in totara."
~quoted from Orakei Objet
