Auckland University of Technology (AUT)

Founded in 1895 as Auckland Technical School, by 1989 it was operating as Auckland Institute of Technology Te Whare Takiura o Tāmaki Makau Rau (AIT). Certified as a full university in 2000, the institution's name became Auckland University of Technology Te Wānanga Aronui o Tāmaki Makaurau (AUT).

In 2019 AUT "established [the] Art on Campus Advisory Group, comprised of a group of experts, [who] will shape and direct the University's art collection." Across the institution's three campuses over 400 art works are on display, many on loan from the Wallace Arts Trust.
