Selwyn Muru was teaching at Elam Art School at the time that this painting was created.

This work was on loan during 2022-2023 for the exhibition "Selwyn Muru: A Life's Work" at the New Zealand Portrait Gallery Te Pūkenga Whakaata in Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington. This coincided with the host site (University of Auckland General Library) undergoing renovations. Building works will not be complete until Semester One 2024, after which time it is planned for the work to be put back in place.
