Description

This mural depicts a series of portraits emerging starkly from a dark field. The theme is anatomical, with emphasis on the brain: a nod to the work's sponsor, world-leading brain researcher Richard Faull KNZM.

Purchased by the University of Auckland, this painting was created by Millman the same year he graduated from his BFA at the university's Elam School of Fine Arts.
