Description

A plaque installed with the work reads: “AMDG / Dedicated 26 May 2002 / The Creation Window / The great window is a gift for the people of Auckland from The Edmiston Trust and Sir Robert Arthur Owens / Their generosity made possible its design manufacture and installation / The design by artist Nigel Brown celebrates faith in God as creator saviour and spirit expressed supremely in the risen Christ and through the creative and commerce of human life. Symbols of the Holy Trinity are incorporated in the design / Also depicted is the migration of peoples to Aotearoa New Zealand the sacrifice New Zealanders have made to world peace is memorialised / The commission was executed by the Glassworks Studio of Suzanne Johnson and Ben Hanly / Installation was completed in 1999”
