John Gray is an architect and researcher in Whanganui-a-Tara. He lectured at the School of Architecture, Victoria University Wellington for many years before retiring. Between 1999 and 2009 Gray was part of the firm The Architects Collaborative Inc.
In 1984, along with Rewi Thompson and Paratene Matchitt, Gray won he competition to design The City to Sea Bridge in Whanganui-a-Tara.
