Debbie Hall

Born in Portsmouth, England, Debbie Hall initially trained in ceramics in 1983, coiling and hand building large pots. In 1988 she staged a solo exhibition of large sculptured planters at Canterbury Landscapes of Christchurch, and completed three commissioned works, the most notable for Sam Neill of Queenstown. In 1989 she participated in the 1989 Golden Bay Stone Symposium.

In 1992 she completed a one-year foundation course in Art & Design through Nelson Polytechnic, then went on to undertake a Diploma in Fine Arts majoring in Sculpture and Ceramics at Otago Polytechnic.

She has participated in various events including Maniototo (1994), World Glide (1995), Wanaka Warbirds Air Show (1996) and Papatuanuku in Christchurch (1997). Hall has also exhibited at Aero Outreach Gallery, Auckland; and in Solo at Art Haus, Wellington. She has also completed private commissions in Christchurch for Coyote Holdings, Azure Bar and Lydington Garden.

Hall lives in St Arnaud in the Nelson Lakes area.
