Alan Hobbs

Based in North Taranaki, Alan Hobbs specialises in jade carving alongside working with other types of stone including basalt, granite and greywacke.
He began learning carving in the 1970s, under the guidance of a Wellington carver.
In 1985 he committed to carving full time. He has also been a pig breeder and hunter.
