Description

"Allen states that, 'The work 'Transitions' takes an undifferentiated view of campus activity and reflects on the passage of the many that pass this way.' It was executed when he was Associate Professor of Elam School of Fine Arts at the University of Auckland in the late 1960's. 'Transitions' was cast from a clay model and a plaster waste mould. Allen was a highly influential artist/educator. His innovative practice inspired a generation of artists, particularly in Auckland and Sydney."
