Turi Memorial Fund

The Aotea Waka Memorial (1933) was also referred to in contemporary papers as the 'Turi Memorial'. Funds for the memorial were gathered in the 'Turi Memorial Fund' by Mr Panenui, Mr Tupito and Mr Wararua of local regional marae.
